In Me There is Darkness

In me there is darkness, but in You is light.
In me there is weakness, but You are my might.
Sometimes I feel sorrow, but You, Lord, are joy.
You always rebuild what the world would destroy.

I wanted to find You... but You searched for me;
Forgave all my sins, so that I could go free.
I wanted to reach You by things I had done;
But You chose a cross to reach me through Your Son.

What a gorgeous poem! Lovely and short with beautiful rhymes.
I have writers block at the moment, so any poem I write looks like a 4 year olds first attempt at poetry

Are you sure? I have seen a four year old's first attempt at poetry!

I didn't just write that poem though... I wrote it in 1995! Only just got round to putting it on my blog.

I'm sure! I have lines that really mean something to me but then finding a rhythm and a sequence is where I'm getting stuck at the moment!

Actually having lines rather than a squiggly line is much more advanced than the four year old's attempts at poetry that I am used to.
